Notice of Co-Option of Councillor – East Ward

An election for the casual vacancy in East Ward has not been required to take place and Penzance Council will now proceed to fill the vacancy by co-option. 

Applicants must satisfy one of the following qualification categories in order to be eligible:

(a)    Be registered as a local government elector for the Parish of Penzance;

(b)    Have, during the whole of the preceding twelve months, occupied as owner or tenant, any land or premises in the Parish;

(c)    Have his/her principal or only place of work during the preceding twelve months within the Parish;

(d)    Have, during the whole of the preceding twelve months, resided in the Parish or within 4.8km thereof.

Any eligible person who wishes to be considered for co-option should write to the Town Clerk at the address below, providing personal details and stating the reasons they wish to be considered for co-option, by no later than noon on Friday 8 January 2021.
