Finance & General Purposes

The Committee is responsible for managing financial matters and good governance for Penzance Council. This includes:

  • Dealing with all Finance and General Purposes matters related to Penzance Council
  • Dealing with all matters relating to the council’s day-to-day administration and corporate governance
  • Considering grant applications from community groups
  • Scrutinising the annual budget prior to it being considered by Full Council

Planning 

Penzance Council is a consultee for all Penzance Parish planning applications. The Planning Committee meets every three weeks to discuss new applications, these range from the redevelopment of neglected sites to home extensions.

Upcoming Meetings:

Committee meetings are held in either St Piran’s Room, Penlee Centre, Penlee Park, TR18 4HE or The Alverne Room at St John’s Hall, TR18 2QW, although they can sometimes be held at different locations across the Parish from time to time. Please check the meeting agenda for the confirmed venue.

Full Council meetings are usually held in the Alverne Room, St John’s Hall, TR18 2QW.
