Your Councillors work for the town and surrounding areas and are supported by a small team of officers based at the Penlee Centre in Penzance.
As well as Penzance, the distinct communities of Newlyn, Mousehole, Paul, Heamoor, and Gulval are represented by their own elected Councillors.
To maintain and enhance our community for the well-being and prosperity of present and future generations.
In order to achieve this, we are committed to working closely with all our local communities across the Parish.
To make the community (of Penzance Council) a better place to live, work and grow.
The Parish of Penzance incorporates:
All Councillors sit on the Full Council which meets at least 7 times a year to take major decisions and oversee important civic duties.
Additionally, Councillors are appointed to sit on Committees which make decisions for different aspects of the town and surrounding areas throughout the year:
We also have a Personnel Committee who deal with all council staffing matters.
Find out more about the Committees.
We have different responsibilities to Cornwall Council – find out exactly who does what in the Parish.
Members of the public and the press are welcome to attend all Committee and Full Council meetings.
You also have the opportunity to ask questions and comment on agenda items at the beginning of the meeting.
Sometimes there will be confidential agenda items – where possible these will be discussed at the end of the meeting and members of the public will be asked to leave.
Visit our meetings page for more information including agendas and minutes.
