Gulval

Gulval

Gulval is a small rural village just under two miles east of the centre of Penzance.

Overlooking Mounts Bay, Gulval is a rural village with a great sense of community. Gulval Village Hall acts as a real community-hub for residents and hosts regular events.

The village also has a longstanding cricket club – Gulval CC played its first match in 1888 – and has been playing in the Cornwall Cricket League for seventy five years.

The village has strong connections with the Bolitho family, who were prominent landowners in the area. The village pub, formally The Old Inn, was renamed The Coldstreamer Inn in memory of Captain Michael Lempriere Bolitho who served in the Coldstream Guards and was killed in action in 1942.
