Grants

We are committed to helping charitable and voluntary organisations who work to help local people in the Parish of Penzance

We provide grants to local community groups and charities who are working to benefit our residents and our Parish environment.

Grant budgets are set annually at the beginning of each financial year.

Priority is given to Penzance-based organisations. However, the Council will consider grants to organisations not based in Penzance where they can show they are directly working with, or on behalf of, Penzance Parish residents.

How to apply for a grant from Penzance Council

General Grants are available for local projects and events in our Parish.

Application forms can only be submitted within one of the defined grant windows.

Application forms will not be received outside these windows.

There are four grant windows per financial year that coincide with the scheduled Finance and General Purposes Committee (F&GP) meetings, excluding the meeting where the annual budget is considered (usually December).

Grant windows are open for one month and close six weeks before the scheduled meeting where it will be considered.

All grant applicants will be required to present their proposals to the Finance & General Purposes Committee.

For grants of over £5,000, applications will always be referred to Full Council for a final decision after approval by the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
