Our car park has 162 spaces, including 4 spaces for Blue Badge holders.  Blue Badge holders – please see the signs displayed in the car park for more information.

Parking Charges

An all day ticket currently costs £2.50 (plus a 25p BUZZPAY! admin fee if using electronic online payment.)

Paying with cash:

Our payment machines only take the correct change (10 pence and up). We have two ticket machines: one is located at the entrance of the car park and the other on the lower level outside Penzance Tennis Club.

Parking charges apply Monday to Saturday (inclusive) to all vehicles (including motorcycles).

Parking is free from 16:00 – 09:00 Monday to Saturday and all day Sunday.

You can purchase a ticket for the day before 9am (you can only buy a ticket on the day of use).

If you have any problems using the ticket machines please contact our office.

All income from the car park is used to maintain the gardens and buildings within Penlee Park as well as the car park itself.

Directions

Use TR18 4HE for sat navs

• Approach Penzance via the A30, at the first roundabout after Sainsbury’s (Tesco will be on your right) take the second exit (Penzance bypass), signposted ‘A30 Lands End’
• At the next roundabout go straight across
• You will come to another roundabout, take the first left, signposted ‘Penzance, West Cwll Hospital’
• About a half mile further on, past Penwith College, you will come to a mini roundabout – turn right (West Cornwall Hospital will be on your right)
• Carry on down the hill, past St John’s Hall (on your left) and follow the road round to the right – you will see a pub called the First and Last
• Wellfields Car Park is about 30 metres on your left (there is clear signage)

Quarterly Parking Permits

Our parking permits provide cost savings for those parking regularly in Penzance. Parking permits are currently capped at 65 every quarter, issued on a first come, first served basis, ordered by date of full payment received.

All current parking permit holders will be notified by email when payment opens for the next quarter. If you are not currently a permit holder and would like to be notified by email when payment opens for the next quarter, please email [email protected] with the subject ‘Please notify me when next quarterly parking permits open’.

Permit Charges

A quarterly permit currently costs £100.00. We encourage the use of online payments but can also take payment by card at our reception desk in the Penlee Centre.

Quarterly periods

Quarterly periods run from:

• 1 January – 31 March
• 1 April – 30 June
• 1 July – 30 September
• 1 October – 31 December

Paying for your permit:

You can pay for your permit online, or by card payment at our reception desk in the Penlee Centre.

PLEASE NOTE: Penzance Council no longer accepts cheques or direct BACS payments for Quarterly Parking Permits.

UPDATE: Parking permits for Quarter 2 2025: 1 April – 30 June are now available.

Collecting your permit:

You can visit our reception desk in the Penlee Centre to collect your permit (our opening hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm).

If you would prefer for your permit to posted to you, please let us know when you submit your application.

Please note: a parking permit does not guarantee you a space in the car park or give you priority over other car park users.

Other car parks

The majority of other car parks within the Parish are owned and operated by Cornwall Council – Cornwall Council car parks information.

There are also some privately owned and operated car parks in Newlyn and Mousehole – please check their information boards for details on parking charges.
