Paul

The village of Paul sits on top of the hill above nearby Mousehole.

The fifteenth century church, which serves the residents of both Paul and Mousehole, is the centre of social life in the village.

As well as being a place of worship, St Pol de Leon Church is a popular concert venue with a wide-ranging programme throughout the year. It also houses the Memorial to the crew of the ‘Solomon Browne’ Penlee Lifeboat, who were all tragically lost during a call-out in December 1981.

The reportedly last Cornish speaker, Dolly Pentreath of Mousehole, is also remembered here with a Memorial in the church yard.
