Young people from Trelya have helped to make a new short film to tell the history of the Lost Forest of Mounts Bay
Did you know that in addition to the amazing collection of Newlyn School paintings, Penlee House Gallery & Museum also has a fascinating archaeological collection, focusing on the history of West Cornwall?
Penlee House worked with young people from Penzance, supported by the charity Trelya, to explore one of its most intriguing stories, the prehistoric forest which once grew where now there is sea in Mounts Bay. The young people collaborated with artist Emma Saffy Wilson and animator Temujen Gunawardena to create an animation, sharing this story with the wider public.
This project was part of the wider Kernow G7 Cultural Programme commissioned by Cornwall Council with support from Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
