Declaration of Result of Poll – Penzance Promenade Ward

The results are in following a by-election for one councillor for Penzance Promenade Ward.

Following a resignation, an election was held for to fill the position of councillor on Penzance Promenade Ward for Penzance Council on Thursday 6th November 2025.

Three people put themselves forward as candidates and the results are as follows:

Mayar Akash – Independent – 216 votes.

Duncan Paul – Liberal Democrats – 491 votes.

Rob Trewhella – Retired – 296 votes.

From an electorate of 4,807, 1,007 ballot papers were issued, which is a turnout of 20.95%.

With the most votes, Duncan Paul is duly elected, and will now join the other 19 members of Penzance Council and serve until the first week of May 2029.
