Montol Festival

The Montol Festival is an annual celebration of the Winter solstice on the 21st of December. The festival is a revival – or reinterpretation – of many of the traditional Cornish midwinter customs and Christmas traditions which were formerly practiced in and around the Penzance area, and were once common to much of Cornwall.

Through the weeks leading up to the 21st December there are mask and costume making workshops, traditional music, carol singing and much more!

Find out more about all the planned events and how you can get involved on the Montol Festival Facebook Page (you don’t need a Facebook account to view the events).

Grant funded by Penzance Council (logo)

Montol Festival CIC has received £7,500 grant funding from Penzance Council towards the costs of this year’s festival, including: stewards, first aid, insurance, venue hire, and security.
