Cormac update on Market Jew Street

19th December 2025 in Penzance, Project Updates

With Market Jew Street in Penzance reopened following works which were part of the Sustainable Travel Network Project, Cormac has issued the following update (18/12/25) outlining what happens next:

“Progress continues on the Market Jew Street improvements as part of the Penzance Town Deal Sustainable Travel project.

“Following the successful reopening of Market Jew Street to its usual hours (no traffic between 11am-4pm) earlier this month (December), the (Cormac) team has been working hard to prepare the area for Christmas while keeping the project on track for completion. At the bottom of Market Jew Street, the granite slabbing along the back of the footway is now complete and will be opened for Christmas. The tree-pit in the build-out on the north side will be excavated, and installation will be underway before Christmas, with completion in the New Year.

“The south side loading bay is now open for use over the Christmas period and the granite slabbing along the shop frontages on Albert Street is underway with completion in the New Year.

“At the top of Market Jew Street, the kerbing across the carriageway and for the build out is complete, with granite slabs being laid this week and scheduled to complete before Christmas.

“The remaining surfacing works will be carried out after the Ross Bridge refurbishment project in April.”
