Designated ‘Enhanced Response Area’ for Cornwall ends today

Published: 1st October 2021 in category: Covid-19

Thanks to the ongoing efforts of residents, businesses and visitors in the fight back against Covid, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will no longer be designated an Enhanced Response Area (ERA) from Friday 1st October 2021.

It follows a substantial drop in virus case numbers and an increase in vaccination uptake since ERA status began on Friday, August 27.

However, Covid hasn’t gone away and Cornwall Council’s Public Health team is asking everyone to remain vigilant, stay cautious and be respectful to keep cases low.

What should I be doing now?

  • Get both doses of the vaccine (if you are able to) as soon as you can
  • Remember: ‘Hands, Face, Space, Fresh Air’
  • If you have Covid symptoms isolate immediately and book a PCR test
  • If you have no symptoms, continue to test twice a week with rapid Lateral Flow Tests (available for free from pharmacies or can be delivered to your home)
