On Thursday 6 May 2021 the polls will open for you to have your say on who represents you on Penzance Council. 

In order to be eligible to vote in any elections you need to be on the Electoral Register.

Why should you register to vote?

• you can nominate a candidate
• you get a say on who represents you
• you have a say on important issues that affect you

Who can register to vote?

You can register to vote if you are:

You can’t vote until you’re 18 years old but you can register to vote from the age of 16.

Ways to vote

There are a number of ways to have your say in the elections in May -you can vote:

  • in a polling station
  • by post
  • by appointing someone you trust to vote on your behalf, which is known as a proxy vote
