Cormac has issued the following update (09/01/26) on three areas in Penzance where works are continuing, including estimated completion dates.
Market Jew Street – Works is continuing on the footway at the bottom of Market Jew Street near the Gyratory, including excavations for, and the laying of granite slabbing. The next phase will include the installation of kerbs and a planter, together with the laying of more granite slabs.
The works are due to be completed by 20 February. This is later than originally planned as a result of additional works being carried out on the footway along Albert Street.

Market Place – Granite slabbing works are progressing on the build-out near Wetherspoons. In the coming weeks the focus will move to the crossing at the bottom of Causewayhead where Cormac will complete the footway works on both sides, including kerbing, tactile paving, and reinstating surrounding paving.
These works are due to be completed by 23 January.
Coinagehall Street – this week Cormac have been setting up the site, works and compound and finalising the traffic management. This has included saw-cutting the road’s surface at the Under Chapel Yard junction. Work to break out the surface will begin next week in readiness for the new wider footway. Following this the team will continue widening this section of footway, together with installing new drainage at Under Chapel Yard. This will involve some excavation work, kerbing, tactile paving, pipe laying, gully construction, and surfacing.
These works are due to be completed by the end of March.
