New funding initiative launched to help community groups buy or takeover local community assets
The Community Ownership Fund (COF) is a new initiative from Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) that aims to enable eligible community groups to bid for up to £250,000 matched funding to help them buy or takeover local community assets at risk.
Local authorities, including local (parish and town) councils, will not be able to bid for funding but can play a role in working with eligible community groups.
How to apply

For this first round of funding, applicants must submit their applications, with all supporting documents, no later than 5pm on Friday 13 August 2021.
Any applications or supporting documents received after 5pm on Friday 13 August will be not be considered as part of this bidding round.
Round 2 of funding will open in December 2021.
