The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust have plans to improve services provided at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance
The proposals for West Cornwall Hospital include the creation of a new extension in the south-west corner of the hospital site to accommodate upgraded outpatient services with enhanced treatment and rehabilitation facilities alongside modern, roomy consultation and examination rooms, better and storage and utility facilities, and improved waiting areas and rest space for staff.
Pedestrian access will be via the existing entrance and a new link corridor connected to the existing hospital complex.
Changes to the parking layout are also proposed, although the aim is to keep the number of spaces available for public use the same. A new external bicycle store will be provided, and plans for new planting and landscaping are also being developed.
The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is now seeking opinions from the public on the proposals.
