Refurbishment works at South Pier Public Toilets will begin on Monday 19 January for 6-8 weeks

Due to the recent poor weather and sea conditions, the refurbishment works are taking longer than we first expected.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are working with our contractors to complete the works as quickly as possible.

Partial closure of toilets during refurbishment works

Please be aware that refurbishment works will begin at South Pier Public Toilets today, Monday 19 January 2026, for 6-8 weeks.

The works will be completed in stages and we will always aim to have some toilets open to use during this time.

Alternative toilets – Penzance Community Toilet Scheme

The nearest Community Toilets are located across the road at The Dolphin Tavern, their opening hours are 11am – 11pm everyday. The Dolphin have ladies, baby change, and gents facilities.

The nearest Community Toilets with disabled facilities are located at The Lugger Inn, which is further along the promenade. Their opening hours are also 11am – 11pm everyday.

We currently work with 12 local businesses to provide Communit y Toilets across the Parish, including Penzance, Newlyn, and Heamoor. All the businesses taking part in the scheme receive funding from us so you don’t need to spend a penny to use their facilities!
