Resurfacing work on Heamoor Roundabout

8th September 2021 in Heamoor, Local News

A phased overnight road closure and traffic light system will be in place Monday 13th until Thursday 16th September

Cormac will be resurfacing the road on the Heamoor Roundabout from Monday 13 – Thursday 16 September between 7pm and 6am.

Diversion route

Signs will be placed at major junctions prior to the closure on the key routes to take non-through traffic away from the closure and keep traffic disruption to a minimum.

Diversion routes have to be suitable for the type of traffic that would normally use the route. They can sometimes be quite lengthy, but in order to carry out the works safely to protect workers and road users Cormac need to implement these measures.

Access arrangements

Access for residents and businesses will be maintained through gateways managed by traffic marshalls.

Residents will need to stop at the gateways and will be given safety instructions eg. speed limit restrictions prior to entering the closure.

If Cormac need access or have to move machinery there may be significant delays.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Working safely

Please be aware of the following hazards while the resurfacing work takes place:

  • Uneven road surface where the old surface has been removed
  • Raised manholes, gullies, and other service boxes
  • Varying kerb heights when stepping off the footway

Please be kind to the people working on site and observe any signs or safety fencing that is in place.
