Tails were wagging in the water as Jubilee Pool held its much-anticipated annual Dog Day for swimmers’ best friends on Sunday 1 November. Now in its eighth year, the four-legged fun day saw plenty of pups taking the plunge at the iconic Art Deco lido in Penzance.
With the sun shining on the doggy paddle paradise, most dogs were quick to jump straight in, whilst some needed a bit of gentle persuasion from their wetsuit-clad humans.
Penzance Council has been a long-term supporter of the pool as a community facility and have once again allocated £40,000 of funding for this financial year to help towards the costs of the Jubilee Pool’s winter maintenance, subsidised entry for adults living in the parish, and to continue the PZ Under 16s Free Swim scheme, providing free access to Jubilee Pool for all under 16s in the Penzance Parish.
