Parish and Town Councils play a vital role in providing local services and involving people in their local community. This review will help ensure they can be efficient, effective, and reflective of the identity and interest of local communities.

CORNWALL COUNCIL IS CONSULTING ON DRAFT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CHANGES TO COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE ARRANGEMENTS ACROSS CORNWALL:

  • Parish areas can be changed my moving boundaries, creating or merging parishes
  • Wards and numbers of Councillors can be changed

PENZANCE COUNCIL IS HOLDING A SERIES OF PUBLIC DROP-IN SESSIONS

These are an opportunity to find out more about the Community Governance Review and the public consultation and to discuss and ask questions about any draft recommendations with officers and Councillors. This will also inform you of what the impact will be on the Parish.
