Which groups have been awarded funding?
At our Finance & General Purposes Committee meeting on Monday 15 April 2024, Councillors voted to award £6,360 in grant funding to 5 local community organisations:
- Cornwall International Male Choral Festival – £500
- Global Jamming – £960
- Mounts Bay Academy (Student Air Awareness Campaign) – £1,000
- Rotary Club of Penzance – £900
- The Hypatia Trust – £3,000
How will the funding be used?
Cornwall International Male Choral Festival
Our funding to Cornwall International Male Choral Festival will help towards the costs of supporting visiting youth choirs at the festival this year.
Global Jamming
Our funding to Global Jamming will enable them to provide six inclusive drumming sessions as part of Whole Again Communities’ ‘All Fired Up’ summer sessions. Their sessions aim to provide a positive social, culture and creative experience for children, families and vulnerable adults who live in the Penzance area.
Mounts Bay Academy
Our funding to Mounts Bay Academy will cover their Student Air Ambassadors’ Air Awareness Campaign as part of Clean Air Day on Thursday 20 June their printing costs for posters, flyers and advertising on buses in the Penwith area.
Rotary Club of Penzance
Our funding to the Rotary Club of Penzance will help towards the costs of holding their Annual Vintage & Classic Car Rally including, live bands, advertising, printing costs and other related costs.
The Hypatia Trust
Our funding to The Hypatia Trust will help towards the costs of event planning, coordination delivery, promotion, publicity and engagement for this year’s 16 Days of Activism in Penzance. The 16 Days is a programme of events, activities and awareness raising on the issue of violence against women and girls.
