At our Finance & General Purposes Committee meeting this week, Councillors voted to award £9,810 in grant funding to local community organisations:
- West Cornwall Women’s Aid – £2,950
- Newlyn Community Flora Group – £950
- MusicAbility CIC – £2,520
- Chapel Street Music – £2,400
- Global Jamming – £990
How will the funding be used?
West Cornwall Women’s Aid
Our funding to West Cornwall Women’s Aid will help them to promote and raise awareness of their planned 16 days of activism to stop violence against women and girls in the Penzance area.
Newlyn Community Flora Group
Our funding to Newlyn Community Flora Group is to help them buy equipment to cultivate new plants at their nursery site, including a solar powered pump and watering equipment.
MusicAbility CIC
Our funding to MusicAbility CIC will enable them to provide a weekly music therapy group for adults with learning difficulties in our local community.
Chapel Street Music
Our funding to Chapel Street Music will help them to provide school and community workshops to enable more people to discover and enjoy classical music.
Global Jamming
Our grant funding to Global Jamming will enable them to offer join-in music sessions for service users and staff at the Growing Links Street Food Project.
