At our Finance & General Purposes Committee meeting on Monday 24 June 2024, Councillors voted to award £3,566 in grant funding to 2 local community organisations:
- Sea Salts & Sails Festival – £1,500
- Penzance Community Flora Group – £2,066
How will the funding be used?
Sea Salts & Sails Festival
Our funding to Sea Salts & Sails Festival will help towards the costs of:
- Disabled toilet facilities
- Materials for the traditional Cork Boats children’s workshop and race
- Cultural workshops with Mike Smilie, The Kipperman
- Performance by Camborne Town Band
Penzance Community Flora Group
Our funding to Penzance Community Flora Group will help towards the costs of this season’s 240 hanging baskets in the town centre.
Our Leisure & Amenities Team also provide additional support by watering the hanging baskets every weekday morning right throughout the summer to keep the flowers in top condition.
