Over the past 12 months the Town Crier has racked up an impressive number of awards!
Penzance Town Crier, Phil Northcott, and his consort Rose Northcott have had a busy 12 months representing Penzance at Town Crier competitions across the South West and they have plenty to shout about!
Here’s a run down of the competitions Phil and Rose have attended:
- Newton Abbott Sep 2021 – 2nd place Crier
- Yeovil April 2022 – 3rd place crier, Best dressed Couple
- Ilminster May 2022 – 1st place crier, Best Ambassador, Best dressed couple
- Plymouth June 2022 – 6th place crier, Best dressed Couple
- Kingsbridge June 2022 – 5th place crier, best dressed consort
- Dartmouth June 2022 – 1st place crier, best dressed Consort
- The Armada cup – 3rd place overall
They will also be competing at Newton Abbott, Liskeard and Hatherleigh later this year.
2023 will also see them making appearances at Chard, Widecombe Fair and the Ancient & Honourable Guild of Town Criers Championships!
