Penzance is one of 10 community events across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to host an official flag relay ceremony ahead of the national event being held in Falmouth.
The flag symbolises public support for the Armed Forces men and women, past and present and the very difficult job that they do.
When and where?
The Penzance Armed Forces Flag Relay Ceremony, which is a free community event, will take place on Monday 12 June at 11am at the forecourt of St John’s Hall.
The flag itself will be presented to the Mayor of Penzance by a military representative and will be raised at St John’s Hall at the start of Armed Forces Week (w/c 19th June).
There will be speeches from the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, military representative and the Mayor, and music provided by Penzance Silver Band.
