There are plans to redevelop Gwavas Playing Field and you can have your say!

What’s it all about?
Cornwall Council‘s Urban Green Shoots project aims to improve 12-15 urban green spaces in Cornish towns, increasing their wildlife value, accessibility and community enjoyment, and Gwavas Playing Field has been selected!
The proposed plans for the site include creating a better entrance, new surfaced footpaths, and timber seats and picnic tables. The dog exercise area, existing play and football areas will be retained and a new football goal added. Pollinator friendly planting will be added, to increase the park’s vale for wildlife and interest for visitors.
The play area is also due to be improved with some new play equipment and repairs in spring 2024, using Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, secured by Penzance Council. Together we are hoping to be able to transform this park in spring 2024 and welcome the feedback from the local community.
